OUR PURPOSE

At Fellowship On The Rock, our overall purpose is to continue the wonderful work that Jesus Christ first began.  We desire to reach out to everyone who does not know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour, and through the power of the Holy Spirit, to lead, teach, guide, and to welcome them into the family of God.

We are a group of Christians who enjoy gathering together in our Spirit-filled worship services, which are dynamic, exciting, and glorifying to God.  As we worship, praise, pray and learn, through the hearing of God's Holy Word, we look forward to seeing lives changed, healed, and transformed by the amazing power of His love.

In our fast changing World, our purpose is to be a relevant Christ-centred, church family in our community of Portland.  Our great hope is to see our fellowship grow in size, influence and reputation, in order to bring God the greater glory.

We aim to encourage and teach everyone to attain a level of Christian maturity that will shine out to the community around us with God's love, so that all true seekers of wisdom and truth will find their way to our Heavenly Father.
 

Our life's purpose is to show the love of God in every area of our lives.  So that, as we mature in our Holy faith, we can become more like Jesus Christ.  We do this through our personal ministry of caring, serving, and encouraging one another in Christian love. We endeavour to provide many opportunities that will foster fellowship and discipleship amongst our congregation.  We also teach and encourage each member of our fellowship to discern their God given spiritual gifts, so that they may be used for God's glory. We aim to reach out with love to more people for Christ, both locally and around the World. We do this by using our financial resources in order to bless the less fortunate through our tithes and offering, as needs arise in various charities World-wide.
